Zeiss Humphrey IOL Master

The FDA has recently approved a new tool for measuring the eye prior to cataract surgery, the Zeiss Humphrey IOL Master. It is the first non-contact optical coherence biometer and it allows fast, accurate measurements of eye length and surface curvature, necessary for cataract surgery. ORBSCAN II by Bausch & Lomb

ORBSCAN II by Bausch & Lomb allows for precision measurement of the anterior segment of the eye. Utilizing a scanning slit measurement system, the instrument provides the clinician with important diagnostic information about the cornea, iris, and lens. ORBSCAN II provides anterior segment data in the form of topographic surfaces. Elevation topography of the anterior cornea enables clinicians to more accurately visualize the shape of abnormal corneas, which leads to more accurate diagnoses and more consistent surgical results.

Topographic Modeling System

Topographical Modeling System, an advanced computer that analyzes the surface and the curvature of the cornea in over 7,000 spots. This device allows (a) the earliest detection of keratoconus, (b) the exact fitting of contact lenses in difficult corneal problems, and (c) the most accurate measurements to follow corneal astigmatism postoperatively.

3-D Wave Front; Marco Technology

We are proud to have the most state of the art equiptment available in ophthalmology. Recently CNY Eye Care obtained the 3-D Wave from Marco Technology. This instrument measures the power of the eye as well as photographing the corneal curvature. Its most important contribution is to perform wavefront analysis. Using adaptive optics, wavefront measurements allow the physician to study the individual optics of each patient’s eye to determine the best numbers to use in refractive surgery as well as to determine if they will require wavefront laser ablation. This machine costs $35,000 and the patient is not charged for its usage. However it is a sign of the commitment that CNY Eye Care has for providing the best care for their patients.

Zeiss Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer

The visual field analyzer is a noninvasive testing device for measuring a patient’s visual field. The testing can aid in identifying any vision defects that may be the result of eye diseases such as glaucoma or macular degeneration. Your physician will also be able to monitor and detect any progression of vision loss aiding them in the treatment of many eye diseases.

Occulus Pentacam Topographer

The Pentacam has a high resolution camera and software that enables precise and reliable imaging and an analysis of the anterior segment structures of the eye including the cornea, Iris and crystalline lens. This aids with more accurate diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment diseases and will also aid in monitoring the progression of other eye diseases such as keratoconus.

Optovue optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT)

The OCT platform is a noninvasive testing device that generates high resolution, cross sectional and three dimensional images of the retina, optic disc and anterior segment. The advanced software allows for extensive analysis to aid in the diagnosis and management of a range of ocular diseases.

The OCT software and measurements of the cornea also aid in calculating the IOL (Intraocular lens implant) power for post refractive surgery patients that will be undergoing cataract surgery.

Haag Streit Lenstar Biometer

The Lenstar biometer is a noncontact tool for measuring the structures of the eye prior to cataract surgery. The Lenstar is capable of capturing the axial dimensions of the various anatomical structures of the eye from the cornea to the retina along with measurements to determine the corneal curvature of the eye. These measurements along with the updated software and formulas will aid in a more accurate selection of the IOL (intraocular lens implant) required for your cataract surgery.

Topcon Specular Microsope

Specular microscopy is a noninvasive photographic test that enables your physician to visualize and analyze the corneal endothelium. This capability will allow them the information they require to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of many corneal diseases.
